Lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes or cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are increasing rapidly in Europe. Following the WHO, CVD, caused by smoking, obesity, and inactivity, is the leading cause of death worldwide. And, on top of that, mental diseases are increasing rapidly.
Most lifestyle-related diseases are preventable by addressing behavioral risk factors. These kinds of diseases not only cause a lot of pain for European citizens but also mean increasing pressure on healthcare systems and healthcare insurers.
How did the Healthy Lifestyle project come to be?
Eurapco Partners want to help and support people in behavioural change from an integrated perspective on health. There are currently numerous services available targeting this problem. However, there are two important customer pain points, which we as healthcare insurers can especially support and thus bring added value to our customers:
- Excellence: By providing high-quality services and platforms.
- Accessibility & personalization: By making it easier for customers to find the services they need.
What is the project’s aim?
With the healthy lifestyle project, the Eurapco Lab wants to explore ecosystem solutions where we can gather all healthcare-related services so that we make it easy and efficient for our customers to find and consume our insurance products and services. The following three aspects are key to providing the user truly benefit:
- Customers can easily find the service they are looking for.
- Customers use services sustainable over time.
- We can provide the right services in a cost-effective way.
What have we done so far?
Involved partners have carried out a market scan and a requirement assessment. After that Wellmo was selected as the platform provider for two proofs-of-concept with Achmea and Länsforsäkringar. Using the same platform provider allows us to leverage this within Eurapco. Both Achmea and Länsforsäkringar have set up local teams for the POC`s including marketing and communication, business developer/specialist, local project managers, and with support from legal and IT. Furthermore, Eurapco supports the POC’s by providing the budget for necessary customer research to be shared with all partners.
Achmea has finished the POC which was focused on:
- App/CJ design with Zilveren Kruis (Achmea)
- Customer research based on design
- IT evaluation of the technical aspects of the Wellmo platform
Länsforsäkringar is currently testing the Wellmo platform with real customers including extensive customer research.
Next Steps
Achmea has shared the POC results with the Eurapco partners after the POC and the customer research were finished. Länsforsäkringar will also share the POC results with the partners after the finalization of the POC and research. The results combined help the partners to learn more about how we can assist customers to live healthier and how we can provide our services in an easy way to our customers
